About my blog statics

The picture above shows the statics about viewers of my blog. Obviously, most of viewers are come from the United States. Among all viewers, there are also few audiences from Russian, Germany, the United Kingdom, France and South Korea. I'm a little bit surprise about the variety viewers because I thought only some Americans will view my blog before. I was shocked by another statics that 58% viewers were using Macintosh operating system, and only 39% of viewers were using Windows

I have to say it's very interesting when you check your own 
statics because it will state all the related data.

About Facebook, I have 92 friends currently,and most them 
are current classmates and friends in UCR. 
As for Twitter, I hardly use it even when I came to American.And
there are 23 followers on my Twitter. I believe most of them
are my classmates in SMM class. By the way, I followed 57 
people and agencies which I'm quite interested in, and I posted 24
Tweets so far in total.

The ROI for Social Media



In last class, we learned about the ROI( Return Of Investment ) for Social Media. As we know, social media is not free, and it takes people, time, technology, even electricity and so on. Thus, in order to know whether the money was worthy to be paid, we should measure the return of Social Media investment by several steps: 1. Establish a baseline.2. Create activity timelines.3. Look at the sales revenue, and look at the number of transactions, also measure net new customers.4. Measure transactioned precursors.5. Overlay all timelines.6. Look for the patterns7. Prove Relationships In specific ways, we can check the viewers, "eye balls", followers, reposts, likes, retweets or mentions etc. It can help us find how effective does the investment works. We can also use this the similar way to check the ROI of our blog or other social media tools. By the way, I found there's some tool such as Hootsuit, It will help us to manage the messages of our social media tools :)

About Twitter Chat

Because of Halloween, one of the famous traditional holidays in American, on last wednesday. Our class was moved on Twitter, and we had lots of fun on our Twitter Chat. It's a nice experience that we exchanged a lot of ideas and thoughts with our teacher and classmates. Unlucky, it seems like most people in our class were still not familiar with how to use Twitter, even after we read lots of instructions. However, our Twitter chat was really impressive. We exchanged many point views about social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, or even QQ. Also we talked about the habit of using cell phone, and shared some experience about using Blog. I think it's a good way to give our teacher a feedback, also to know more about our classmate.  Anyway, I have to say that is a interesting class, and I really enjoyed it.  :D

Experience of group presentation

Last wednesday, we did a presentation in group about the Social Media Campaigns of Taco Bell.
We compared the followers and the influences of Taco Bell’s social media campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Mobile App,and how effective does they works.

We think Taco bell’s Facebook  is the strongest online presence because it has most fans than Twitter and Youtube. Also it offered many kinds of choice for their target customers such as photo advertising,video, online activity,etc. It shows more diversity. In contrast,Youtube page seems a little bit tedious as just simply broadcast their video program. About Twitter,I have to say the Taco Bell Truck page is pretty good. 

As for mobile app, we think it's not very effective because it's only free for Android and some function is not available.

As conclusion, we think Taco Bell should expand it's market to Asian country and Europe country. Making more local flavor to local people, send more free products to people as well. It will help Taco bell advertising it's brand.

Homework #3 about Twitter

I am planning to follow The Big Bang Theory ( one of the most popular comedies which has so many fans. The audience of this TV episode is almost same the target of my target customers. So I can put my advertising in one episode of TBBT. Then it will speared wildly, and help me to build my brand), CBS News, Youtube, The New York Times( these three is about the media which I focused on that provide me the latest authority social media news and messages. In order to let me know what is truly happening now), UC-Riverside ( the university news is important for me to know those things happening around me).

About online community



Hi~everyone! I'm a super sports fan ,and especially like NBA. I joined an online bbs called "Clutchfans" which is the fan community of Houston Rockets, a basketball team of NBA. Tonight, Rockets just started their opening game of this season. I posted a airtcle about "who do you want to see most at opening night?", and soon their are some followers and comments about this question. I post some thing before, but it didn't attract many people's attention. Why this question is popular even though it is just a per-season game? The question is that the whole team were rebuilded in this summer, and almost the most players are new face for fans. Moreover, the game just finished and Houston Rockets beat the Oklahoma City Thunders, which team won the western conference champions last season.

Homework #2

Why is it important to market yourself?


Firstly, there are 7 billions people all around the world now. Each individual person is a kind of special product when they hunting jobs, applying for universities etc. In order to be competitive among such many people, we should market ourself perfectly. Secondly, even the best quality merchandise needs advertising spread it to more people. Every product can't be well-selling without market.


How can you build your brand online?

As we know, advertising is the best connection between consumers and merchandise, and the selling point always shows on the most obvious part of a advertisement. So we should discover what is the most unique advantage of ourself which other people don't have, then focus on it and mainly propagandize about it. In addition, we have to get known about our target customers : who are they? And what do they want. Finally, designing our marketing strategy is the most vital procedure. So, at the beginning, survey the website which target customers like surfing best, and put our advertisement on those website via video or visual Ad, because people are easily attain information from eyes. The selling point should be obvious and repeating broadcast. Then make some attractive video story which contain our brand spirit, and upload to those social website such as FB & Twitter and so on. At same time, we can hire bunch of people pretend as average to expand it. About the story, it should be impressive to leave a deeply impression of audience. Then people will remember the story and the brand too.

(a) What do you think is Social Media?




In my opinion, Social Media is the most prevalent way of communication which including TV, magazines, networks, photographs or pictures, video ect.Nowadays, every social people on this planet was connected by social media. It is a convenient and common thing in modern people's daily life. Obviously, Social Media not only benefits on the way of communication, but also profits on the modern marketing strategy.




(b) Why are Social Networks important in the marketing mix?



The key point of marketing is sell more products, and it needs advertising as the spread process. Fortunately ,Social Media provide marketing a perfect stage. Since Social Networks appeared, marketing totally entered a new generation, which beyond the old marketing system instead became more convenient and more effective than ever. It is a huge progress in marketing history. Thus I thinks Social Networks and marketing were perfectly combined with each other.


Reason For Taking This Class


Hi, I am the new student of Social Media Maketing class who came from China. Melon is my nickname. As I 'm a Senior student whose major is Communication, and I want to apply Advertising as my further major in graduate school. I chose SMM class with out thinking, because SMM perfectly cohered communication and advertising together. Also it base on my enthusiasm of media communication.
